MEET PAT
Pat Hargadon, a dedicated community leader and accomplished professional, has deep roots in Kentucky.
With a career spanning over three decades, Pat has been an agent with Kentucky Farm Bureau since 1986 and has served as Agency Manager in Shelby County since 2000. His leadership and commitment to agriculture and community development have earned him numerous accolades, including being named Agency Manager of the Year by Kentucky Farm Bureau in 2022.
A graduate of both the Leadership Kentucky program (1998) and the Kentucky Ag Leaders Program (2001), Pat has a proven track record of working with industry leaders and driving positive change across the state. His work with Farmers Feeding Families earned him the prestigious WLKY Bell Award in 2019, and he was also recognized as a Business First 40 Under 40 honoree.
Pat's commitment to service goes beyond his professional career. He has served in numerous volunteer leadership roles, including as past chair of the Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service, and on the boards of United Way, the American Red Cross, the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce, and Citizens Union Bank.
Currently, Pat holds key leadership positions, including Chair of the Shelby County Industrial Foundation, Chair of Shelby Energy Electric Coop, Chair of the US 60 Water District, and Chair of the U of L Health Shelbyville Advisory Board. He is also an active board member with the Lincoln Heritage Scout Council.
A lifelong advocate for Kentucky's rural communities, Pat and his family operate a 1,100-acre beef farm in Waddy, where they remain deeply involved in the agricultural community. He and his wife, Theresa Greenwell of Louisville, are proud parents of two adult children.
Pat's extensive experience in both the private and public sectors, combined with his passion for service and leadership, makes him uniquely qualified to represent and advocate for the people of Shelby County.
